To give this blog some flare, I have decided to post chapters of a story I wrote a few years ago. Since then my writing has improved a lot but Project Shadow still holds a special place in my heart. It is loosley based around Sonic Adventure 2: Battle but only in the first few chapters. After that, it becomes different. I will post different chapters over unset periods of time. Enjoy!
It was usually quiet in the US military’s secret under ground base but today was different. Dr Tomoe had successfully entered the base and took out all of the guards.
“Ha, piece of cake. The military really need to get better and faster guards! They were no match for me,” The doctor said.
The evil doctor had broken into the base to find out what his grandfather, Gerald Tomoe, had developed for the military. Many years ago the military had shut down the project because they feared it. So far the doctor knew it was some sort of top secret weapon.
By now the doctor had reached the laboratory that his grandfather had been working in all those years ago.
“Enter password. EM-ER-ALD. Emerald,” The doctor said as he typed away, “Now all I have to do is put these Rainbow Emeralds into this control console.”
The Rainbow Emeralds were emeralds that possessed unlimited power. All together there were seven Rainbow Emeralds and the doctor had found them all. They were nessesary to control the horror that would soon arise from the mists within the under ground base. A jail type cell of some sort had risen from the metal floor by now and soon a lid lifted open. Dr Tomoe stood silent and asked him self if he had made the right choice about looking up his Grandfather’s research project. A creature rose from the cell. The creature was dressed in a black coat with its head covered by a hood and black leather gloves covering its hands. All you could see were its dark red eyes. The doctor looked into them and felt a cold evil down his back. He tried to move but couldn’t. The creature then jumped from the cell. Its coat covered it from head to toe and a cold, dark, black mist surrounded it at the bottom of its coat. It seemed to hover towards Dr. Tomoe. It then looked at the seven Rainbow Emeralds.
“I am the ultimate life form named Shadow. Now that you have released me, my master, I am your humble servant,” The creature spoke in its deep, dark voice.
Dr Tomoe started shivering with fear but soon remembered that he still had the Rainbow Emeralds with him and as long as he had them he would be safe from Shadow.
Suddenly, an alarm started to go BEEP! BEEP!
“Now what?” The doctor asked.
Shadow began to speak, “Behold my true powers!”
Shadow went towards a guard that had heavy firepower and was aiming for Dr Tomoe. Dr Tomoe ducked and shielded himself from the guard.
“So, you fear that do you? Very well!” Shadow said.
Just then a zombie appeared and started staggering towards the guard. The guard shot and shot with all his might at the zombie. He screamed out load. The zombie lunged at him. In two big bits the zombie had eaten the guard and vanished. The doctor looked stunned. Shadow had not even moved an inch since the zombie appeared.
“How did you do that? Tell me right now!” Dr Tomoe ordered.
Shadow looked at the emeralds again.
“I feed on fear. I read minds and find out what the person fears the most. In this case the guard feared being eaten by the undead,” Shadow casually said.
The doctor begun to hatch an evil plan to take over the world. Knowing he would be safe as long as he had all seven Rainbow Emeralds, he turned to Shadow. “Come. We have work to do,” Dr Tomoe muttered.
